Distinctive Unit Insignia

Description
A silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of two silver eagles face to face with wings elevated supporting a silver sword between them on a buff field, all interlaced by a red scroll inscribed PARTNERS IN EXCELLENCE at bottom in silver.

Symbolism
Buff and scarlet are the colors associated with Support units.  The eagles represent the United States and Germany, and characterize the units motto.  The sword stands for military strength and service to the individual soldier.

Background
The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 9 July 1993.
